Succeeding and Excelling Together

We all want to see ourselves, as IGSL faculty members, grow both personally and professionally. As we understand and develop ourselves, and see how we fit together with others in our team, we can find the most effective ways to work together. If all of us continue to do this, re-evaluating on a regular basis, we can have a greater impact in helping transform individuals, families, communities and nations.

Personal Leadership Development Process

Each faculty will have an opportunity to go through a Personal Leadership Development Process of assessing needs, planning priority development areas, being equipped in those areas, and experiencing the growth they desire.

Development Process

We have developed a number of tools to help us know ourselves better and to know how we can make the greatest contribution to God's kingdom.

I.G.S.L. Leadership Focus — The letters I.G.S.L. stand for Intentional Priorities, Growth Areas, Spiritual Life, and Leadership Capacity. It helps you set your priorities and make plans for growth as a leader.

S.E.R.V.E. Profile  This tool is more detailed than the I.G.S.L. Leadership Focus. It is designed to help you discover your unique and God-given identity as you live out your calling and responsibilities as a faculty member.  It’s something that can serve you as you seek to steward your own calling and unique identity, and it also can serve the school as we seek to empower people to serve others out of those gifts and strengths. The description page lists links to many sites that will help you discover your spiritual gifts, strengths, temperament, etc.

SET-TV — This is a simple tool to help you see where the hours of your week are going. Read the instruction page first, and then follow the link to the form to input your answers.

Job Description — Your supervisor will help you to develop your job description. You should evaluate it regularly to see if it needs to be updated.

360 Reference Form — This tool is used when a person is under consideration for a new or expanded leadership position at IGSL. The 360 seeks feedback from a supervisor and a subordinate as well as two to three colleagues, to help find the best fit for them, and will help them further develop their leadership capacity. There is also a simpler version of this called 360 Lite.
